Built on a promise of calm
Haven opened in 2009, founded by Elena and Thomas Hart, a hotelier and an architect who believed a resort should feel like coming home, not checking into a museum.
On 12 acres of open coastline in Monterey, they built a resort that puts calm ahead of grandeur, warmth ahead of formality, and real service ahead of a script.
Today Haven has 86 rooms, 3 restaurants, a full-service spa, and a team of 120 who share one goal: help every guest feel like there is nowhere else to be.
How we host
We keep the resort at 86 rooms on purpose, so the beach, the pool, and the restaurants never feel crowded. The concierge desk is staffed 24 hours, housekeeping runs twice daily on request, and the front desk answers the phone in person, day or night.
Sustainability guides the day to day: refillable amenities in every room, a kitchen that buys from Monterey County farms and boats, and a beach crew that keeps the coastline in good shape year round.
